A senior police officer yesterday warned that cars, motorbikes and jet skis of those harassing beachgoers will be confiscated and the anyone pestering women will be punished.
"Their pictures will be published in newspapers," said Brigadier Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, CID Director, speaking about those who trouble visitors on the beaches. He said plainclothes police as well as officers from the ports will monitor open beaches and the beaches in public parks.
Visitors to the Jumeirah Beach Park recently said that single women are being harassed by gangs of youth.
Beachgoers can call and complain of any incidents on two dedicated numbers, said Mazeina.
The numbers are 04-2661228 or 04-2036398.
