Fitness and staying in-shape is a ‘way-of-life’, a lifestyle, there is no quick-fix! Once you are in-shape you have to keep going, keep challenging and conditioning your body. Why not, after all your body is the greatest instrument you’ll ever own!

Why not ie football? As with tennis you can make good money if you go pro; but can you play it forever? I’ve seen men/women at various clubs around the world with double-heart-liners or as fit as a fiddle in their 80’s, and still running for a drop-shot, but I cannot say I’ve seen footballers in their 80’s on a football field.

Why not ie golf? Golf and tennis are actually quite similar (lots of frustration), but you are getting far more of a workout playing tennis, if fitness is what you are after, you will burn twice as much kilojoules playing tennis for an hour, that is moderate pace!

TENNIS is a rare sport in the sense that it encompasses ALL the components of physical fitness (flexibility, strength, speed, endurance, power), and you can play it till the day you drop!

I am a female coach with a contagious passion for tennis and body conditioning! I started playing tennis at the age of five. As well as coaching experience, I played competitive tennis in the UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa and Namibia. I come from a tennis family, and can recommend tennis as an ACE quality family-time activity!

Teach you – the greatness of the game of tennis, the strokes, the etiquette, the strategies and dynamics.

Train you – body conditioning, on and off the court; certain muscles need extra strengthening off court, in order to excel in tennis.

Motivate you – to achieve your tennis or fitness goal, to believe in yourself and your abilities, to improve your self-confidence; you will receive a detailed Performance Report every quarter, regardless of the amount of lessons.

Discipline you – physically and mentally; if you want to succeed in anything in life, it starts with discipline.

Organise you – if you want to take it further; enroll you into local competitions, tennis holidays and – camps in Europe, etc.

Befriend you – if you do not trust your coach: boy, it will be a waste of your time and money!

I am flexible to travel in the Dubai emirate, if you have a private court at home. I prefer coaching at compounds (Arabian Ranches, Springs, Meadows, Lakes), other locations include Safa Park and Jebel Ali Village Club.

Racquet comes from raquette, which derives from the Arabic ‘rakhat’, meaning the palm of the hand (ref: www.wikipedia.org).
